Announcing the Geek in Residence v2 teams

So we've had a few shifts and movements within the Geek in Residence program this year. Consider this a sort of soft-launch, a quiet announcement so the teams who are up & running can shout about what they're up to.

Kelli and Steve of PVI Collective The teams:

For the second year, I am delighted to announce the Geek in Residence teams. This time we will have twelve Hosts (two yet to announce details), with thirteen Geeks in place now (at least two more to come), working across six states. Cool, huh?

The Arts Law Centre of Australia , NSW / National with Jodi Miners
Bangarra Dance Theatre, NSW with Dan Andrews (@TheDanAnimal)
Emerging Writers' Festival, VIC with Daniel Donahoo (@ddonahoo) and Pierre Proske
Kickstart Arts, TAS with Matt Daniels
Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, VIC with Greg More (@gregmore)
Outback Theatre For Young People, NSW with Shakthi Sivanathan and the team at Curious Works (@curiousworks)
Pvi Collective, WA with Steve Berrick (@grivvr) and Lauren Brown (@sheseesred)
Queensland Ballet, QLD with Ben Foley
Sydney Youth Orchestras, NSW with Lynne Sanderson
The Border Project, SA with Michael Marner (@MichaelMarner) and Logan MacDonald
Australian Dance Theatre in SA with Luke Toop
Australian Poetry in VIC / National with Benjamin Laird (@benjaminlaird).

UPDATE: Please welcome the new additions to the team, Luke Toop and Benjamin Laird!

Due to some changes at Australian Dance Theatre in SA, we haven't announced their Geek yet, but should be able to add them in the next few weeks. Unfortunately Scribe Publications had to withdraw from the program, so they are to be replaced with Australian Poetry. We are currently going through the process with them so more announcements to come.

Blog and Marketplace

We're trying something new (again). This year we have a blog http://www.residentgeeks.net which is partly for you to see what they're up to and use as a go-to resource to ask geeky questions, but also as a marketplace.

I have been asked on many occasions to post a call out for something or other - and I've been happy to do so. One of the artists in Digital Culture Fund looking for a workshop/exhibition venue, an arts org needing a web developer, or a call for old computers... we like to try to help you guys find ways to help yourselves and each other. The Marketplace was therefore developed to help extend that.

It is, as usual, an experiment. Give it a whirl, and see what happens. If you have problems, then let us know and we'll try to help. If it works then let us know and we'll blog about it!

And something else...

OK, we *are* coming to the end of the digital program, yes. But don't let that stop us from rolling out anything new just at the end. I'm keeping quiet for now, but there's something coming that you'll be hearing about shortly.
